Whatever platform you use to sell and market your products online, you need to make sure your piece is presented well. I personally use Etsy because it's convenient, but there are tons of other sites and ways to sell. I won't be going into marketing much in my blog because personally I'm not an expert in that, but I can get you all set to list your items out for the world to "ooo" and "ahh" over.
Let's begin with selecting all the final touches for your piece of jewelry. If you have earrings, you need earring hooks and if you have a necklace, you need a chain to put it on. My advice is to go with the highest quality possible that also goes with your design. You have to factor in cost as well. If you use sterling or gold then you can and should charge more for it. For cheaper options you have stainless steel and cord chains. Tip: I like to give my buyers the option to select what they want at check out so they can decide how much they want to spend. I suggest you give your buyers options. It will also feel more customizable to them.
Next you need to move on to photographing your piece. Many website hosts that you choose can easily walk you through all of these steps, but this will get you started.
When photographing, you want to get all the angles in a variety of locations, such as on a mannequin, someone wearing it, a real close up, next to something to show size, etc. Lighting is the most important element. After you have your photos, it would help to spruce them up in a basic photo editor to enhance exposure, contrast, color, etc. If you aren't good at this, seek online tutorial videos on YouTube.
Videos are great too. A quick clip on your phone can speak louder that static pictures can. Take a look at my examples:
Next you want to fill out any and all information being as detailed as possible on the dimensions of your piece, materials, uses, etc. Reiterate all of this in the description section if it's separate because it is separate on Etsy. This will insure your buyer can find all the information they need as fast as possible. If they have to hunt for it, they may click away.
Once you have everything filled out, double check everything and you will be ready to post. Sometimes I will sit down and get a bunch of posts ready at once so I might post one and leave the other as drafts for a different day. That way I can focus on promoting one piece at a time. It also makes it so I don't have a bunch of listings come off at the same time when their renewal is up.
Well that's really it. Tomorrow I will have one more post on some other design ideas you can do for your pieces such as adding decorations and how to grind a hole in your glass safely. Thank you so much for checking out my post. Please like and subscribe to my website and have a blessed day!
